Heimdall · Chain Intelligence (EUBA)

StressTrace Cognitive Engine

What it is

Heimdall is the chain-intelligence engine inside StressTrace. It treats every user, device, account and command as a node in a temporal behaviour chain, then spots anomalies in the chain rather than in isolated events. The result is earlier detection of insider risk, social engineering, operator fatigue and account compromise — with an evidence trail a regulator can read.

Why chains beat single signals

Traditional UEBA tools score one event at a time: a login at an unusual time, a command from a new IP, a spike in data access. Attackers know this and stay under each individual threshold. Heimdall links events into chains and measures how the chain itself diverges from the operator’s baseline. A tired analyst, a coerced administrator and a stolen credential all leave different chain signatures — and Heimdall learns to tell them apart.

How it works

1. Baseline the chain

Build per-user and per-entity behaviour chains from identity, EDR, SIEM and consented human-factor telemetry.

2. Detect divergence

Quantum-inspired spectral methods surface weak correlations and drift that threshold-only tools miss.

3. Explain and route

Every finding carries a human-readable rationale. High-severity alerts route through the HIQTF path so they cannot be silently rewritten in transit.

What changes for the SOC

  • Earlier weak-signal warnings, before a breach crystallises.
  • Fewer false positives — context is built into the score, not bolted on afterwards.
  • Explainable evidence for regulators, boards and post-incident review.
  • No new sensors or content surveillance required.

Industries served

Banks, insurers, government CERTs, defence operators and large enterprise SOCs — anywhere a privileged human is the last line of defence.

FAQs

What does EUBA mean in Heimdall?

EUBA stands for Entity and User Behaviour Analytics. Heimdall treats every user, device, account and command as a node in a behaviour chain, then spots anomalies in the chain rather than in isolated events.

Is Heimdall a separate product?

No — Heimdall is the cognitive model inside StressTrace, not a standalone product. It ships as the chain-intelligence layer of the StressTrace platform.

Does Heimdall need biometrics or content surveillance?

No. Heimdall uses operational metadata such as response latency, command-pattern drift and approval cadence — not keystroke logging, camera data or email content.
